After the Dominion War, Starfleet returned to its primary purpose of exploration and scientific discovery. Therefore, the huge numbers of combat-oriented vessels built for the war effort were seen as obsolete and many were mothballed at starbases across the Alpha and Beta Quadrants.
Among these was the USS Valiant, who had served with distinction in over fifteen engagements during the conflict with the Founders.
The discovery of the terrorist group known as the Brotherhood of Kro'al allowed Starfleet to call these noble veterans back into the service of the Federation, and the Valiant was the first to be ordered to be refit.
Now that the refit is complete, the Valiant has been placed under the direction of Commander Ian McDavid and ordered to report for duty in the Loki System, the Brotherhood's base of operations.

Hello, Everyone!
We've stumbled a bit as far as activity since the end of the month, and I realize this is partially due to my decision to hold up the mission while waiting to complete some JPs I've got going. Hence, I've decided to go forward.
I want everyone to make a post about prepping for the relief mission. I will be calling on non-essential personnel to join the Security teams. I've seen posters on other sims state that their characters don't know how to fire a phaser, so I'd like to address that issue in the event this is a concern. Everyone in a military organization (despite what others may say, Starfleet is the military arm of the Federation) is taught to use firearms during basic training or officer school.
In closing, I am proud of the work that y'all have done to make this sim top notch. However, there is always room for improvement, so let's strive to be even better!
TTYL,
Vince AKA Commander Ian McDavid

Hello Team:
This is your new Executive Officer. I have been going over some of your last posts, and I have a few things I just wanna say. First of all, I know allot of you have been waiting on JP's from others. This is a good thing. But the bar has now been lowered to a post every two weeks. In that time, I would like to see something. I would like to see 1 post per person, ( yes, a JP counts as a post for all parties,) and 1 personal log from all. Personal logs are important for character development, and to help you see what a character is thinking, and feeling. I feel this will be an easy task.
Second thing I would like to brush on is recruiting. I know, It's hard...TRUST ME, I KNOW. But, I would like to sweeten the pot a bit. I wanna know what will motivate YOU!!!!! In the next little bit, I wanna know what I can do you reward you. Send me a personal message, and tell me what you would like to see as a special reward for a job well done. If it's within my power, who knows. ( with the Captain's approval, of course.)
I think that each and every one of you should be bucking for MY job. So, show me how bad you want it. The more people we have, the faster we ALL get a promotion. And show me how much you want it by trying to tell me how I can reward you. ( YES, you WILL get the credit for it.) So, lets have some fun...What do you say?????

The LMH, played by Tellmia Moore, has received the Meritorious Newcomer of the Month Award. Tellmia, you're the only crewmember to ever give ME a hard time about the quality of my posts, which shows how much you care about this sim. You are truly an invaluable asset.

6) Mission Objectives
A) Last Week's Objectives
LMH – You still need to make an NPC, and we need to finish our JP.
Chief Patterson – Once the LMH and I finish our JP, you and I can continue ours.
Lieutenant Pov'ock – I'd like to finish our JP by Monday, if that's doable for you. Besides that, not really much need for Tactical ATM, so you're free to do whatever you feel like. We still need Security NPCs, if you're interested.
Lieutenant Troy – Not really much for Operations to do, either. You can pick up from our last JP and play the data retrieval officer if you want, or play a Security NPC, or even do some introspective into your character and his past if you like.
Ensign Brown – Not much for flight control to do ATM, either. If you want to play a security NPC, you are welcome to do that. Once we arrive in the system, you'll need to fly the away teams down, though.
B) This Week's Objectives
LMH – Answer the tag I left you ASAP.
Chief Patterson – Answer the tag I left you ASAP.
Lieutenant Pov'ock – We still need to finish our JP, and you will be joining the security detail on the planet.
Lieutenant Troy – Answer the tag I PMed you ASAP. You will also be joining the Security detail

Hello,
After a great rally, things seem to have slowed down quite a bit. As you know, we have a crucial review coming up, and need to put forth some extra effort to show we have what it takes to make the grade! We only have three (3) days left to make our post goal, so let's GO FOR IT!!!
Also, I'm still waiting on responses to the call for recruiting help. This is as simple as posting info to your favorite forums (in the appropriate section) and talking up the simm to your friends. If you have already done your part to get the word out, please let me know ASAP.
Please join me in welcoming our new XO, Lt. Commander Ivan Romanov, to the Valiant. I know he will be a tremendous asset to our crew!!!
Enjoy the weekend,
Vince AKA Commander Ian McDavid

My New Crew mates:
I will be playing your new Executive Officer Ivan Romanov. I can't wait to play, and meet all of you, and I know it will be fun.
As for my expectations, that is simple. I expect only the best from all of you. I feel that by joining this crew, I have not only joined a fine ship, and crew. But the best in the fleet. And I want everyone to know that fact . I want us to make that so, not only to us, but to the rest of the fleet as well. I want our stats to speak for themselves. And remember, We are a team. without each other, we are nothing. So, lets be not only a team. But the best team in Obsidian Fleet.
With a little Imagination, we will be fun. With a little Consistency, we will be Envied. With a little Creativity, We will be Legendary. Put them all together......We WILL be Valiant.
And remember: Fortune favors the Bold......But today, she WILL favor us...The Valiant.

B) This Week's Objectives
Lt. Toma'lk and Chief Patterson – Both of you need to respond to the tags I left in our respective JPs.
Lt. Troy – You haven't posted in over a week. I know It's hard since there really isn't anything for your department to do ATM, but you can post about looking through the Brotherhood disc. We need everyone's input!
Commander Romanov – I'd like for you to look at the previous XO's bio and write an exit for that character and then introduce yours.
Ensign Brown – Still not a lot for you to do. We need Security NPCs, as I mentioned before. If that's not your cup o' tea, you and Lt. Rand could JP about picking shuttle pilots or something. Be creative! ;-)
LMH – I'll be starting a JP with you as soon as we enter orbit of Barradas (which shouldn't be too long now.)
